Subject: GAY MARRIAGE?

What does the Bible say about gay marriage / same s*x marriage?

...... While the Bible does address s*xuality, it does not explicitly mention gay marriage/same-s*x marriage. It is clear, however, that the Bible condemns s*xuality as an immoral and unnatural sin. Leviticus 18:22 identifies s*xual s*x as an abomination, a detestable sin. Romans 1:26-27 declares s*xual desires and actions to be shameful, unnatural, l*stful, and indecent. First Corinthians 6:9 states that s*xuals are unrighteous and will not inherit the kingdom of God. Since both s*xual desires and actions are condemned in the Bible, it is clear that s*xuals marrying is not Gods will, and would be, in fact, sinful.

Whenever the Bible mentions marriage, it is between a male and a female. The first mention of marriage, Genesis 2:24, describes it as a man leaving his parents and being united to his wife. In passages that contain instructions regarding marriage, such as 1 Corinthians 7:2-16 and Ephesians 5:23-33, the Bible clearly identifies marriage as being between a man and a woman. Biblically speaking, marriage is the lifetime union of a man and a woman, primarily for the purpose of building a family and providing a stable environment for that family.

The Bible alone, however, does not have to be used to demonstrate this understanding of marriage. The biblical viewpoint of marriage has been the universal understanding of marriage in every human civilization in world history. History argues against gay marriage. Modern secular psychology recognizes that men and women are psychologically and emotionally designed to complement one another. In regard to the family, psychologists contend that a union between a man and woman in which both spouses serve as good gender role models is the best environment in which to raise well-adjusted children. Psychology argues against gay marriage. In nature/physicality, clearly, men and women were designed to fit together s*xually. With the natural purpose of s*xual intercourse being procreation, clearly only a s*xual relationship between a man and a woman can fulfill this purpose. Nature argues against gay marriage.

So, if the Bible, history, psychology, and nature all argue for marriage being between a man and a womanwhy is there such a controversy today? Why are those who are opposed to gay marriage/same-s*x marriage labeled as hateful, intolerant bigots, no matter how respectfully the opposition is presented? Why is the gay rights movement so aggressively pushing for gay marriage/same-s*x marriage when most people, religious and non-religious, are supportive ofor at least far less opposed togay couples having all the same legal rights as married couples with some form of civil union?

The answer, according to the Bible, is that everyone inherently knows that s*xuality is immoral and unnatural, and the only way to suppress this inherent knowledge is by normalizing s*xuality and attacking any and all opposition to it. The best way to normalize s*xuality is by placing gay marriage/same-s*x marriage on an equal plane with traditional opposite-gender marriage. Romans 1:18-32 ill*strates this. The truth is known because God has made it plain. The truth is rejected and replaced with a lie. The lie is then promoted and the truth suppressed and attacked. The vehemence and anger expressed by many in the gay rights movement to any who oppose them is, in fact, an indication that they know their position is indefensible. Trying to overcome a weak position by raising your voice is the oldest trick in the debating book. There is perhaps no more accurate description of the modern gay rights agenda than Romans 1:31, they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless.

To give sanction to gay marriage/same-s*x marriage would be to give approval to the s*xual lifestyle, which the Bible clearly and consistently condemns as sinful. Christians should stand firmly against the idea of gay marriage/same-s*x marriage. Further, there are strong and logical arguments against gay marriage/same-s*x marriage from contexts completely separated from the Bible. One does not have to be an evangelical Christian to recognize that marriage is between a man and a woman.

According to the Bible, marriage is ordained by God to be between a man and a woman (Genesis 2:21-24; Matthew 19:4-6). Gay marriage/same-s*x marriage is a perversion of the institution of marriage and an offense to the God who created marriage. As Christians, we are not to condone or ignore sin. Rather, we are to share the love of God and the forgiveness of sins that is available to all, including s*xuals, through Jesus Christ. We are to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15) and contend for truth with gentleness and respect (1 Peter 3:15). As Christians, when we make a stand for truth and the result is personal attacks, insults, and persecution, we should remember the words of Jesus: If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you (John 15:18-19).Amen *

Last week, 18-year-old South African athlete Caster s*menya won a gold medal in the 800 meters race at the 2009 World Championships in Athletics. Now she may be forced to return the medal if she fails a gender-verification test imposed by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). the IAAF are testing to see whether s*menya has a rare genetic disorder that means she has female genitalia but male chromosomes. This disorder is called hermaphroditism.

Caster s*menya.

Danger level: Low

What is it?

Our gender is determined, among other things, by our internal and external sex organs (Such as a p*nis or v*gina on the outside, and a uterus on the inside). In some people, this distinction doesnt fully exist they may have both female and male sex organs.

Who gets it?

The numbers change from one study to another, but it is believed that between 0.1% and 0.2% of the population may be born with this condition.

What causes it?

We have 23 pairs of chromosomes in our DNA. These are molecules which hold our genetic material and tell our body how to develop and who we are going to become.

One of these pairs are the sex chromosomes. They are different between males and females. In males this pair is composed of an X chromosome and a Y chromosome. Females, on the other hand, have two X chromosomes.

When we develop in the uterus, our internal organs have the potential to become both male and female. Only at weeks 9-13 of pregnancy do we start developing into either males or females.

We usually develop into females by default unless we have the Y chromosome. This happens since there are certain genes on the Y chromosome which tell our body to develop test*cles. Once test*cles develop, they secrete a substance called testosterone (among other things), which helps us further develop into males, including a p*nis.

If we lack the Y chromosome, that gene is absent. In this case, instead of test*cles, ovaries develop. Since there are no test*cles to secrete testosterone, a female develops, including a uterus, fallopian tubes and v*gina.

Some children are born differently, forming a group of disorders in which the above doesnt necessarily happen:

Female pseudohermaphroditism In this case the sex chromosomes are XX and the female has ovaries, but also external male sex organs (p*nis).
Male pseudohermaphroditism They have XY as sex chromosomes, but their external organs are not fully developed or they are completely female on the outside.
True hermaphroditism While the above were pseudohermaphroditism, meaning they are mostly male or mostly female, in this case there are both test*cles and ovaries. These people can appear anywhere from females with a large to those with male external organs.
We wont go into details as to why this can happen, since its beyond the scope of this article. The reasons generally include problems with the development of test*cles, problems with the creation of testosterone and other problems.

How is it discovered?

As you may understand, the condition is visible to the eye in most cases. The diagnosis contains checking the babys DNA to understand whether they are females or males by genetics and so understand what they were supposed to be.

Other measures include an ultrasound and other imaging techniques which will show which organs exist on the inside...... *
